"Why Leaders Eat Last"
I would like to - no, I have to - add another talk to the series “best talks I have seen” (The Meaning of Live so far being the only, but constituent talk): Simon Sinek: Why Leaders Eat Last
In this in-depth talk, ethnographer and leadership expert Simon Sinek reveals the hidden dynamics that inspire leadership and trust. In biological terms, leaders get the first pick of food and other spoils, but at a cost. When danger is present, the group expects the leader to mitigate all threats even at the expense of their personal well-being. Understanding this deep-seated expectation is the key difference between someone who is just an “authority” versus a true “leader.” Simon Sinek: Why Leaders Eat Last

An AWESOME talk - inspiring and entertaining. Warning though: might leave you w/ quite some thinking to do !
And here is what I actually like the most and what clearly classifies Simon’s talk “one of the best talks I have ever seen”: it’s the highlighting and conclusion illustrating an attitude that I believe in and experienced first as a boy scout, back then: the willingness to sacrifice (at least a little bit) for someone’s “safety” (a.k.a “doing service to someone”) is what makes you a leader, not your position or title or rank, not your higher income or being called out
